After Visiting the Canton Fair, What Should a buyer do next?

After visiting the Canton Fair, buyers often seek additional opportunities to further their sourcing efforts, explore new products, and build relationships with suppliers. Here are several places and events buyers might consider visiting:

1.Other Trade Fairs and Exhibitions:
A) If you attended only one phase of the Canton Fair, consider returning for other phases that focus on different product categories.
B) Just outside Canton Fair halls, there are two other fairs opening at the same time as Canton Fair. As you have been here, why not visit more if your feet are still yours.
C)Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) Fairs: Various fairs throughout the year covering different sectors. Going from Guangzhou to Hong Kong is very convenient. You can buy ticket from Guangzhou Nan Station and the high speed train takes just 1 hour to arrive Hong kong.
2.Visit Supplier Factories:
I know a few buyers who comes to Canton Fair every year but never visit factories afterwards. All I want to say is, it’s such a pity. Canton Fair is big, but China is bigger. There are various reasons a supplier is not coming to Canton Fair, for example, they don’t want to compete too much in price as they already have enough business. This may be a very good supplier. So why not visit the manufacturers and have a deeper understanding of the business? I assure you this will expand your mind and see a different world.
3.Visit Wholesale Markets:
Guangzhou is famous for all kinds of wholesale markets in China. Blow is just a few of them:
Baima Clothing Wholesale Market
Shahe Clothes Wholesale Market
Shisanhang Clothes Wholesale Market
Guangda Vast Foreign Trade Shoes Plaza
Liwan Toys Wholesale Market
Sanyuanli Leather Product Wholesale Market
Beauty Exchange Center
These wholesale markets accepts smaller quantity orders and are more flexible in styles compared to manufacturers.
4.Local Showrooms and Distributors:
As some suppliers cannot get booth from formal channel, except for buying from others at high prices, another way they meet with customers are to set up showrooms in cities like Guangzhou, Shenzhen, etc. I even known some suppliers rent 1-2 rooms in the Westin hotel near Canton Fair and try to get customers.

5. Online Sourcing Platforms:
B2B Marketplaces: After the fair, continue your sourcing efforts online through platforms like Alibaba, Global Sources, or Made-in-China. These platforms allow you to connect with suppliers you may not have met at the fair. And if you are really interested, visit them. Chinese people are very hospital and you will have unforgettable trip.

In one word, after the Canton Fair, buyers have numerous options to continue their sourcing journey. Whether through additional trade shows, factory visits, wholesale markets, or online platforms, the key is to leverage the connections and insights gained at the fair to enhance your sourcing strategy and build strong supplier relationships.
